From AI Novice to (Sort of) Music Video Creator – A 60-Minute Journey with My Daughter
Last week I attended a Property Academy event where I was shown a glimpse of the creative power of AI. Inspired, I went home and decided to test it out for myself — with the help of my daughter.
My first thoughts are how the next generation of agents will use this technology to create content that really cuts through. Something that would have been unimaginably difficult and time consuming is now becoming easy.
What will this mean for the rest of us who keep on shooting the same style of content?
Watching the process that Vince McSweeney (the speaker at the excellent Property Academy event) went through, I did wonder if I would have the time to try it. Like you, I’m really busy. However saying that I haven’t got time to understand what’s possible in a fast changing world runs the risk of me becoming irrelevant very quickly.
My first attempt was a Country music video of my recent bike crash. A truly awful experience for the viewer but I thought it was quite funny. Then a rap video. My youngest daughter wanted me to show her what the fuss was about, so we sat down and made a story about her toy rabbit and our cat. The results are below
We set out to create a short AI-generated video using nothing but a few still images and some imagination. The results? Honestly, mind-blowing.
Here’s what we did:
🔹 Step 1: Create the visuals
We used Hailou to generate six-second video clips from still photos. (£8 monthly subscription — well worth it for the results.)
🔹 Step 2: Build the story
I worked with ChatGPT to storyboard a short children’s tale based on the photos. It gave us a fun, engaging script and lyrics that set the tone for the project.
🔹 Step 3: Make a song
Then came the game-changer — SUNO. We used the lyrics to generate a completely original track. The quality of the music blew me away. If you haven’t tried it yet… honestly, just do. It’s next level.
🔹 Step 4: Pull it all together
We brought everything into CapCut to stitch the clips and music into a complete video. The editing process was fast, intuitive, and surprisingly fun.
🔹 (Bonus step: Lip sync – TBD)
We’re still working on syncing the mouth movements to the lyrics perfectly. It’s the one piece we’ve not quite nailed yet — if anyone has tips, I’m all ears!
This experiment took less than an hour and produced results that genuinely impressed me.
Could we start telling property stories with music, emotion, and creativity that go beyond the usual format? Could we move people — not just show them square footage?
It’s probably not one for me long-term (my daughter steals the show), but it’s got me thinking…
